Privacy Policy

Last updated 1 June 2026·Applies to all Go Legal Ai accounts and visitors

This policy explains what information Go Legal Ai collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. In plain terms: your matters and documents are encrypted, never sold, and never used to train external AI models.

01 What we collect

We collect only what we need to run Go Legal Ai, keep your account secure, and improve the service. This falls into a few categories:

  • Account information — your name, email address, and (for paid plans) billing details processed by our payment provider. We never store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Matter content — the documents you upload, the text you draft, and the questions you ask our AI assistant. This is the content you create while using the product.
  • Usage data — how you interact with the app: features used, pages visited, and diagnostic logs that help us fix bugs and measure performance.
  • Device & technical data — IP address, browser type, and similar information your device sends automatically, used for security and to keep the service reliable.

We do not ask for special-category data (such as health or biometric information) and ask that you avoid uploading more sensitive personal data than your matter requires.

02 How we use it

We use your information to deliver the service you asked for, and for the legitimate purpose of keeping it secure and improving it. Specifically:

  • To provide the product — generating drafts, running risk reviews, guiding legal pathways, and connecting you with a lawyer when you choose to.
  • To maintain your account — authentication, billing, support requests, and service notices.
  • To keep the service safe — detecting abuse, fraud and security threats, and meeting our legal obligations.
  • To improve Go Legal Ai — analysing aggregated, de-identified usage trends so we can make the product better for everyone.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share your matter content with advertisers. We only share data with the trusted processors that run our infrastructure (such as hosting and payments), each bound by contract to protect it.

03AI & your data

Our AI features process your matter content so they can answer questions, draft documents and flag risks. We have built clear limits around how that content is handled.

Your data is never used to train external models

Documents, prompts and responses you create in Go Legal Ai are not used to train third-party or external AI models. Your content stays inside your account and is processed only to deliver the result you requested.

When a request is handled by an AI provider on our behalf, it is sent under contractual terms that prohibit using your content for that provider's own model training. Any analysis we perform to improve our own service uses aggregated, de-identified data — never your raw documents tied to your identity.

AI output is a drafting and review aid, not legal advice. For matters that need representation you can escalate to a qualified lawyer at any time.

04Storage & security

Protecting your matters is core to how we are built. We apply layered safeguards across our infrastructure and operations.

  • Encryption — your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest using industry-standard encryption.
  • Access controls — strict, least-privilege access for our team, with audit logging on sensitive systems.
  • Resilient hosting — data is stored with reputable cloud providers with regular backups and monitoring.
  • Retention — we keep your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymise it.

05 Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and equivalent data-protection laws, you have rights over your personal data. You can:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct — ask us to fix data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete — request erasure of your account and associated data.
  • Export — receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Object & restrict — object to or limit certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us via Support. We respond within the timeframe required by law, and you may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

06 Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the product is used.

  • Essential cookies — required for login, security and core functionality. These cannot be switched off.
  • Preference cookies — remember settings like your currency and billing view.
  • Analytics cookies — help us measure performance using aggregated, de-identified data.

You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings or our in-app cookie controls. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the service from working.
